The 2026 10th International Conference on Traffic Engineering and Transportation System Held in Dalian


From September 18 to 20, 2026, the 10th International Conference on Traffic Engineering and Transportation System (ICTETS 2026) was held in Dalian, Liaoning. The conference was hosted by Dalian University of Technology and organized by the Smart Transportation Management and Technology Application Team of the School of Economics and Management, Dalian University of Technology. Experts, scholars, researchers, and young students from domestic and international universities, research institutions, and enterprises gathered together to conduct in-depth exchanges on frontier topics such as transportation planning and design, intelligent transportation system, transportation organization and optimization, traffic safety and management, transportation big data and artificial intelligence applications, green and low-carbon transportation, and the low-altitude economy.

On the morning of September 19, the opening ceremony was held in Lecture Hall A301. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Shaopeng Zhong of Dalian University of Technology, Chair of the conference. Professor Xin Ye, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, Dalian University of Technology, and Chair of the conference, delivered the opening address. Xin Ye extended a warm welcome to all experts, scholars, and delegates, and expressed the hope that the conference would serve as an opportunity to further promote academic exchange, technological innovation, and industry-university-research cooperation in the field of traffic engineering and transportation system.


Keynote reports

In the keynote report session, Professor Hai Yang from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology delivered a report titled “The Present and Future of Transportation Travel: Shaping a New Ground-to-Sky Transportation Landscape”; Professor Jiancheng Long from Hefei University of Technology delivered a report titled “Fair Vehicle Routing and Scheduling Problem for Highly Toxic Chemicals Considering Multiple Time Windows, Nighttime Driving Bans, and Driving Duration Regulations”; Associate Professor Zhiwei Wang from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, delivered a report titled “Integration of Ride-Hailing and Mobile Charging: Intertemporal Shared Capacity Allocation”; Professor Xiaolei Wang from Tongji University delivered a report titled “Stop-Free Public Transit Design Based on Modular Vehicles: Models, Reconfiguration, and Algorithms”; and Professor Ning Zhu from the University of Science and Technology of China delivered a report titled “Management of Car Rental Systems with Vehicle Replacement and Relocation Considering Entropic Risk.” The reports covered frontier directions such as intelligent mobility, transportation network optimization, shared transportation, modular public transit, and robust optimization, and the on-site exchange was lively.


“Traffic AI Insights · Smart Mobility” Product Launch

Subsequently, the conference entered the “Traffic AI Insights · Smart Mobility” product launch session. The session began with a systematic introduction to the product and a product video. After that, Professor Hai Yang from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Professor Xin Ye, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, Dalian University of Technology, Professor Jiancheng Long from Hefei University of Technology, Professor Jianjun Wu from Dalian University of Technology, Associate Professor Zhiwei Wang from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and Liang Teng, General Manager of the Tianjin-Tibet-Xinjiang Region, Baidu AI Cloud China, jointly took the stage to unveil the “Traffic AI Insights · Smart Mobility” product. Guests witnessed the product launch. This session was an important manifestation of the conference’s efforts to promote AI empowerment of traffic engineering and transportation system and to advance deep industry-university-research-application integration.


Parallel Sessions

On the afternoon of September 19, four parallel sessions were held simultaneously. The Forum on Artificial Intelligence and Transportation System Optimization was held in Lecture Hall A301, chaired by Professor Ning Zhu from the University of Science and Technology of China. Professor Peng Wu from Fuzhou University and Professor Jingxian Chen from Hefei University of Technology, among others, gave keynote reports; Associate Professor Yuan Gao from Beijing Institute of Technology, Associate Professor Chuanyun Fu from Harbin Institute of Technology, and Lecturer Yunhai Gong from Guilin University of Electronic Technology, among others, gave invited reports.

The Forum on Big Data and Coordinated Decision-Making for Integrated Transportation System was held in Room B205, chaired by Professor Hao Fu from Beijing Jiaotong University. Professor Jun Xie from Southwest Jiaotong University and Professor Junfang Tian from Tianjin University, among others, gave keynote reports; Associate Professor Xin Guo from Beijing Jiaotong University and Lecturer Siqi Shu from Dalian Maritime University, among others, gave invited reports.

The Forum on Low-Altitude Economy and Sustainable Urban Development was held in Room B312, chaired by Professor Xin Yang from Beijing Jiaotong University. Professor Tianliang Liu from Beihang University and Professor Duo Li from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, among others, gave keynote reports; Professor Qiang Wang from Civil Aviation University of China gave an invited report.

The Forum on Transportation Industry Innovation and Development was held in Room B208, chaired by Liang Teng, General Manager of the Tianjin-Tibet-Xinjiang Region, Baidu AI Cloud China. Peng Xue, Vice President of EHang Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., Mingxia Dai, Senior Business Data Analysis Expert at Xingtu Data, and Luogang Chen, Senior Product Manager at Baidu AI Cloud, among others, gave keynote reports.

The conference held an award ceremony for Outstanding Paper Awards and Outstanding Oral Presentation Awards, commending the authors of outstanding papers and scholars of oral presentations selected at this conference.


Conclusion

This conference built a high-level, international, and open academic exchange platform, showcasing the latest research results and industrial practices in the field of traffic engineering and transportation system. It is of positive significance for promoting the intelligent, green, and integrated development of transportation system and promoting academic innovation, achievement transformation, and deep industry-university-research-application integration.

The Smart Transportation Management and Technology Application Team of the School of Economics and Management, Dalian University of Technology, will continue to face major national strategic needs and the frontiers of transportation industry development, deepen interdisciplinary and cross-field exchanges and cooperation, promote theoretical innovation, technological research and development, and achievement application in the transportation field, and contribute DUT wisdom and strength to the high-quality development of smart transportation.
